The Wine & Art Gallery
An excursion into the Estate’s History from the Medici to Ferragamo

In keeping with the Borro philosophy wine is not merely a product but it is the soul of a genuine culture, which places it at the center of each and every activity. The intention is to be the standard bearer of the historical value of wine and to disseminate its guiding principles.
The Wine & Art Gallery is a one-of-kind private collection. The historical engravings, owned by Ferruccio Ferragamo, are exhibited in Il Borro’s Gallery and include 67 engravings ranging from the 15th to the 19th century depicting the many facets of wine and winemaking.
An artist’s eye on “ways of drinking”, from the everyday customs of ordinary people, to the mythological dreamlike dimension of the gods.
The Gallery currently exhibits over one hundred engravings by artists such as Mantegna, Durer, Aldegrever, Parmigianino, Bloemart, Rembrandt, Callot, Tiepolo, Canaletto, Fattori, Whistler, Tissot as well as contemporary artists such as Chagall, Picasso and Warhol.

Visits to the cellar

Il Borro opens its cellar with organized tours, whose purpose is to assist wine lovers to approach winemaking and guide them in the discovery of the vineyards surrounding the Estate. But there is more to the tour than merely observing the vineyards, the views and tasting the wine; it is a total immersion with an expert guide into the vineyards and the cellar. It is a special excursion crowned by a tasting of Il Borro wines in order to fully appreciate the results of this century-old story.
